CHP mayoral candidate withdraws from race!
Gamze Yolcu Metin, the Republican People's Party (CHP) mayoral candidate for Nazilli, has withdrawn her candidacy.
The Republican People's Party (CHP) mayoral candidate for Nazilli, Gamze Yolcu Metin, has announced that she is withdrawing from the race.
In a written statement, Metin noted that when she was nominated by her party's headquarters, she had anticipated all the difficulties she would face.
Thanking those who deemed her worthy of this duty, Metin stated the following in her announcement:
"However, with the thought that continuing the process would cause further harm to both myself and my party, I submitted a petition to this effect to our Headquarters with regret on January 31, 2024. I thank them for their understanding. On the day I accepted the duty, I told myself, 'Gamze, I guess you need to serve Nazilli, shake yourself off and prepare for the task.' But it seems the time has not yet come."
Metin also expressed that despite withdrawing from her candidacy, she would remain active in the field and continue to carry her party's flag.
