Sharp response from CHP's Köksal and Tanal to AKP's Osman Gökçek! 'The jelly bean sellers who sold out Ankara...'

A heated debate broke out in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) between AKP MP Osman Gökçek and CHP MPs Mahmut Tanal and Burcu Köksal.

AKP MP Osman Gökçek claimed that Ankara has the most expensive water and bus tickets among municipalities nationwide.

Following Gökçek's remarks implying that the CHP is in cooperation with the PKK, saying, "I wish you had spoken up when the PKK terrorist organization was supporting Kılıçdaroğlu before the election," CHP's Tanal reminded Gökçek that he had 'attended FETÖ schools,' stating, "If you are looking for a terrorist organization, aren't you the one who graduated from the schools of a terrorist organization? You have forbidden food in your throat, up to your gullet."

Taking the floor in the General Assembly, CHP's Köksal said, "The jelly bean sellers who sold out Ankara parcel by parcel have no right to take this podium and criticize the CHP or CHP municipalities."

"Those who welcomed PKK terrorists at Habur with drums and pipes under the name of the 'solution process' and had them acquitted in tent courts have no face to come here and say, 'The PKK terrorist organization supported Kılıçdaroğlu.' We are like Teflon. Even if you want it to, terrorism will not stick to us. We are the Republican People's Party founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, as long as we live, we will always stand against all terrorist organizations. We are not the ones who take the podium and say to the snotty FETÖ, 'Come back, let this longing end.' We are not the ones who go and cut the ribbon of Bank Asya with a ceremony, and then go to America, kneel before FETÖ, and receive permission. We are not the ones who raised our hands to veto the motion when we brought a motion to this parliament to investigate the political wing of FETÖ. We are not the ones who became inseparable from FETÖ and organized the Turkish Olympiads. We are not a party that determines its candidates by getting permission from Pennsylvania. Therefore, if you want to see people associated with terrorism, you should first look in the mirror. After that, you will not speak ill of the CHP mayors who are making history in Istanbul, Ankara, and 11 metropolitan cities. Get out of here!"

WHAT HAPPENED?

Last year, Gökçek believed and took seriously a satirical post by Sözcü columnist Murat Muratoğlu, which was published following announcements about new oil reserves, claiming, "After the oil found in Adana, 6 billion dollars worth of jelly bean reserves were found in two wells where exploration work was being carried out in Adıyaman..."

In his statement regarding the issue, Gökçek had said, "While commenting on the oil reserve discoveries, thinking the discovery of 6 billion dollars worth of jelly bean reserves was real, he said, 'They found something new in Adana. I read it in the newspaper today. I don't know what it means. I confess. I will research it so I know. It has a name. Children eat it. Jelly bean. Jelly bean was found. I don't know what jelly bean means. 6 billion dollars worth of jelly beans were found underground. I don't know what this means. I looked at today's media.'"
