CHP names Uğur Bayraktutan as its candidate for Parliament Speaker

The CHP's candidate for Parliament Speaker is Artvin MP Uğur Bayraktutan.

WHO IS UĞUR BAYRAKTUTAN?

He was born on February 25, 1965, in Artvin. His father's name is Remzi and his mother's name is Yaşar.

He is a lawyer. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law. He worked as a freelance lawyer in Artvin.

He served as a member of the Founding Board of the Association for Kemalist Thought (ADD) in Artvin and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Artvin Bar Association.

He held positions including SHP Artvin Provincial Vice Chairman, SHP Artvin Provincial Disciplinary Board Chairman, CHP Artvin Central District Board Member, CHP Artvin Provincial Disciplinary Board Chairman, CHP Artvin Provincial Election Committee Chairman, CHP Artvin Provincial Board Member, and CHP Artvin Provincial Chairman.

He resigned from his position as CHP Artvin Provincial Chairman, which he had held since August 17, 2003, to run in the June 12, 2011, parliamentary elections.

He was elected as a CHP Artvin MP for the 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th terms.

In the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), he served as a member of the Turkish Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) and as a member of the Constitutional Committee during the 24th, 25th, and 26th terms. He served on the National Defense Committee during the 27th term. Bayraktutan, who serves as a Parliamentary Administrative Officer in the 28th term, has also been a member of the PARLATINO Turkish Group since January 2022.

Additionally, he has been serving as the Chairman of the CHP High Disciplinary Board since 2014.

He is married and a father of two.
