CHP reacts to Ali Yerlikaya for targeting Özgür Özel
CHP Deputy Chairman Murat Bakan has reacted sharply to the response given by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on social media. Stating that Yerlikaya is failing to fulfill his duties, Bakan said, "You will go down in history as one of the most unsuccessful Interior Ministers in the history of the Republic."
CHP Deputy Chairman Murat Bakan evaluated the response given by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on social media to the criticisms directed at him by CHP leader Özgür Özel. Bakan emphasized that the Interior Minister should focus on his duties instead of creating polemics on social media.
Murat Bakan stated that crime rates in Turkey are increasing, organized crime groups are targeting young people, and femicides are continuing systematically. He also expressed that drug use has reached childhood ages and that no effective steps have been taken regarding migration policy. Criticizing Yerlikaya, Bakan said, "You are ineffective in the face of this picture."
Bakan stated that the Interior Minister is not a social media influencer and should demonstrate his performance through his actions. He also said, "Your duty is not to pile tens of thousands of police officers in front of the main opposition party's provincial building, but to deport illegal immigrants." Bakan reminded that state offices are not anyone's personal seat and that one cannot remain in these positions permanently.
Finally, Murat Bakan stated that those who act without political ethics and state seriousness will certainly be held accountable when the day comes.
