CHP will be unable to appoint ballot box officials in 7 provinces

Because the Republican People's Party (CHP) did not field candidates in 7 provinces during the 2023 Presidential elections, it will be unable to appoint ballot box officials in those provinces for both the local elections and the 2028 Presidential elections.

CHP will be unable to appoint ballot box officials in 7 provinces

CHP Deputy Chairmen Burhanettin Bulut, Gül Çiftçi and Volkan Demir met with journalists and answered questions. Evaluating internal party conflicts, Burhanettin Bulut stated that some of the criticisms made during the election period constitute "internal party malice" and are not well-intentioned.

HE ANNOUNCED THE PROVINCES WHERE HE EXPECTS SURPRISES

Regarding the CHP's goals for the March 31 Local Elections, Bulut said, "We have both the belief and the ongoing efforts to maintain our 11 metropolitan municipalities. We expect surprises in Bursa, Manisa, Kırklareli, Malatya, and Balıkesir. We see that we will win more municipalities in these elections compared to past elections."

"INTERNAL PARTY MALICE"

Regarding allegations of internal political conflict within the CHP in recent days, Bulut said, "Such discussions occur after party congress processes. This is what distinguishes the CHP from other parties. The CHP has always valued polyphony within the party and has been a party where intense debates have taken place in the past as well. Perhaps this tradition and this characteristic are what have kept the party standing and dynamic for so long. Today, there are similar ideas and expressions. But notice that those expressing different ideas have almost become trolls. Internal party opposition can sometimes be useful. But right now, in a process where we have entered an election period, the internal party opposition carried out by some of our friends is not opposition, but internal party malice. They are doing this malice not just to the CHP, but actually to the country. Recently, a few such names again made absurd slanders via social media, and they continued this even though it was obvious that it was slander," he said.

CHP WILL BE UNABLE TO APPOINT BALLOT BOX OFFICIALS IN SOME PROVINCES

Stating that because there were provinces where the CHP did not participate in the 2023 General Elections, there will be no ballot box officials in some provinces for the local elections either, Gül Çiftçi said, "In provinces where we left the field to the İYİ Party and supported the İYİ Party, we cannot appoint ballot box officials there due to the Election Law. However, we will monitor those places through observers. We could not appoint ballot box officials in the provinces of Aksaray, Bayburt, Bitlis, Çankırı, Gümüşhane, Muş, and Yozgat. In fact, we will not be able to appoint them in the next election either. We will follow the process in these places through observers and lawyer organizations," she stated.

"YOU WILL NOT SEE MR. LÜTFÜ IN THE ADVERTISEMENT FILM"

Making a statement regarding why CHP's Hatay Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Lütfü Savaş is not appearing in advertisement films, Çiftçi said, "It is Mr. Lütfü's own request, and it is a situation we understand. He does not want to star in a musical advertisement film. That is, he does not want to do a musical political project. Because a new life is being built there. The pain is very fresh and deep. For this reason, you will most likely not see Mr. Lütfü in the second or third advertisement film," she said.
