Claim: 12 more mayors and 4 MPs to join the AKP

With the resignations occurring in the Future Party, the number of those expected to join the AKP has increased. According to a report in the Türkiye newspaper, it is claimed that 12 mayors and 4 more MPs from the Future Party will join the AKP. The report stated that some of the individuals joining the party will have their pins attached at today's AKP Group Meeting. 

It was suggested that the pin-attaching ceremony, which is stated to be conducted by AKP President Erdoğan, will have a portion of it take place at the grand congress planned for February. 

THERE IS ANOTHER NAME BESIDES NEDİM YAMALI 

Following the words of Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, "If the President calls, I will return. There is a need for a major recovery movement. I am ready to support that movement," claims had surfaced that the Future Party would join the AKP. 

Yesterday, Future Party Ankara MP Nedim Yamalı announced that he had resigned from his party. It is expected that Nedim Yamalı will be one of the names to have a pin attached at today's AKP Group Meeting. It was suggested that another name will be Future Party Istanbul MP Selim Temurci. 

According to the behind-the-scenes report, it is being discussed that some IYI Party figures will also switch to the AKP in the coming days and that negotiations are ongoing.

With Nedim Yamalı's resignation from his party, the number of seats held by the Saadet-Gelecek Group, which had 20 MPs in Parliament, has fallen to 19. When the number of MPs falls below 20, the group also dissolves. According to the internal regulations, political parties gain the right to form a group in Parliament when they have at least 20 MPs.
