'Communist Mayor' Maçoğlu's new profession revealed
Fatih Mehmet Maçoğlu, who ran for Mayor of Kadıköy from the TKP in the March 31 Local Elections but failed to receive the expected number of votes, has taken up beekeeping as his new profession.
Fatih Mehmet Maçoğlu, known as the "Communist Mayor" due to his political views after winning elections in the Ovacık district of Tunceli and subsequently in Tunceli province, made a surprising decision during the elections by running as a candidate from Kadıköy, a stronghold of the Republican People's Party (CHP).
Despite his highly ambitious statements, Maçoğlu finished the election in 3rd place with 10.02 percent of the vote across the district and returned to Tunceli following his defeat. While there was curiosity about what Maçoğlu, who served as mayor for years, would do now, the former mayor's new profession has been revealed.
HE HAS STARTED BEEKEEPING
Maçoğlu has started beekeeping in his hometown of Tunceli. In a post on his social media account, Maçoğlu stated, "With the arrival of spring, our collective production efforts have gained momentum. Following bee maintenance and the hive splitting process, we will send our bees to high-altitude plateaus for honey production. We will not only support production methods that protect nature and defend ecology, but we will also be a part of them." His work attire drew significant attention.
Former Tunceli Mayor Fatih Mehmet Maçoğlu, who was nominated by the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) as their Kadıköy candidate in the March 31 elections, finished the race in 3rd place with 10 percent of the vote. After returning to Tunceli following the elections, Maçoğlu's new profession has become beekeeping.
