Communist Movement of Turkey announces its Republic program: 'The presidential system will be abolished'
The Communist Movement of Turkey has published a declaration titled "A New Republic Against the Capitalist Order."
With only a few days left until the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, the Communist Movement of Turkey (TKH) has announced its 'new republic' program.
The program announced by the TKH emphasizes that the presidential system will be abolished. Highlighting judicial independence, the program states: "The judiciary has been turned into a tool of oppression in the hands of the government today. In a new republic, judicial independence and the rule of law will be ensured, and the right to defense will be guaranteed."
The following statements were included in the declaration published by the TKH under the title "A New Republic Against the Capitalist Order";
"THE PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM WILL BE ABOLISHED"
A new constitution will be prepared with the organized participation of the people, and the Presidential System will be abolished. One-man rule will be brought to an end. In the Republic of the working people, the most important governing body will be the parliament, and the people will participate in governance in an organized manner. The parliament will be the highest body in terms of legislation, forming the government, and overseeing the executive; the parliament will work in connection with local governing bodies and form a whole with them. Professional organizations, bar associations, trade unions, and women's organizations will carry out coordinated work with the Parliament on issues related to their areas of expertise.
A system will be established where the organized participation of the people from the bottom up is ensured through workplace committees, as well as neighborhood, district, and provincial organizations. Local organizations have the right and responsibility to dismiss or recall administrators elected or appointed from their areas of responsibility when necessary.
"THE TRUSTEE SYSTEM WILL BE ENDED"
The facilities provided to administrators to enable them to perform their duties will be transparent, socially observable, and auditable. The salaries of administrators serving in the state's management mechanisms will be equivalent to the wages of other working people.
The trustee system, which ignores the right to vote and be elected, will be ended. The duties of all administrators who come to office through elections can only be terminated through elections or by the people exercising their right of recall.
"THE RULE OF LAW WILL BE ENSURED"
The judiciary has been turned into a tool of oppression in the hands of the government today. In a new republic, judicial independence and the rule of law will be ensured, and the right to defense will be guaranteed. Judges and prosecutors will be independent, and the immunity of judges and prosecutors will be secured. Justice and legal security will be established for everyone and everywhere in the country.
A new republic will be established on the basis of equal citizenship through the joint struggle of Turkish and Kurdish working people. Discriminatory, chauvinistic practices and approaches, which are the dominant features of capitalist Turkey, will be completely liquidated. Education in the mother tongue will be constitutionally guaranteed.
Women, who are seen as cheap and reserve labor in capitalism and marginalized through a division of labor built on gender discrimination, will be ensured to participate freely in the production process and in all areas of social life on the basis of equal citizenship. The burdens placed on women in capitalist society, such as cooking, cleaning, and childcare, will be addressed by mobilizing collective facilities; in this direction, nurseries, canteens, and laundries, which are important parts of planned urbanization and a social life based on equality, will be expanded and become public services.
Our country has been dragged into an abyss in the hands of exploiters. This order of exploitation will be ended,
