Concerns in the AKP over the New Welfare Party!
AKP Deputy Chairman Ali İhsan Yavuz, commenting on the New Welfare Party (YRP), which decided to enter the local elections with its own candidates, stated: "The YRP itself is not claiming to win. If you ask anyone, they would think that fielding candidates harms the AK Party."
AKP Deputy Chairman Ali İhsan Yavuz made evaluations regarding the upcoming local elections during a live broadcast he attended.
Criticizing the New Welfare Party for closing the doors to an alliance with his party, Yavuz stated, "The YRP itself is not claiming to win. If you ask anyone, they would think that fielding candidates harms the AK Party."
"YRP IS NOT CLAIMING TO WIN"
Expressing concern that the New Welfare Party might cause the AKP to lose the election, Yavuz said in his statement on the matter, "There may be places where you lose or win an election by 1 vote. If this is the picture, can we say that every step and everything is unimportant? We sat down with the YRP for a long time. We held 6 meetings. Of course, we may not reach an agreement, but one should not display approaches that would eliminate the ground for the People's Alliance in the coming years. What is happening today? The CHP mentality continues with İmamoğlu. With God's permission, we will win the election. But the YRP itself is not claiming to win. If you ask anyone, they would think that fielding candidates harms the AK Party. You will see that a clear picture will emerge in Malatya as well."
CLAIMS THAT THEY WOULD WITHDRAW THEIR CANDIDATES HAD BEEN MADE
The New Welfare Party, which had announced Chairman Fatih Erbakan as its presidential candidate in the May elections, had decided to support the People's Alliance candidate Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shortly before the elections.
After the cooperation negotiations conducted by the two parties for the local elections stalled, the New Welfare Party closed the doors to an alliance with the AKP.
While claims have been made in recent days that the YRP would withdraw its candidates in the local elections, high-level figures from the party have denied these allegations.
