Conflict grows in AKP: Harsh words from Şamil Tayyar to Mehmet Metiner... 'Look here, you degenerate!'

AKP member Şamil Tayyar reacted harshly to Mehmet Metiner on social media. 

While defining Metiner as an "incompetent, ambitious person," Tayyar also remarked on his recent statements, saying, "Lately, he has been attacking everyone like a PKK spokesperson." Stating that Metiner is "trying to lecture others with his small mind," Tayyar issued a threat, saying, "One day you will be held accountable for those dirty schemes of yours."

The reason for Tayyar's reaction was the statements Metiner made on a television program. In his last meeting, AKP member Tayyar had brought up claims that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan had suggested a coup would be staged against Devlet Bahçeli within the MHP if the process failed. Tayyar had stated that Öcalan used significant language regarding a potential coup against MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

METİNER'S DIG AT THE MHP

Mehmet Metiner stated that he consulted MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir regarding these remarks by Tayyar and that the response he received was that it was "nonsense." Metiner argued that these claims were baseless and reacted to Tayyar. Metiner shared the harsh response he received from the MHP wing with his followers on social media.

Tayyar responded to Metiner's statements on social media. Critically attacking Metiner, Tayyar said, "He has attacked me many times as well; I chose to remain blind and deaf to his attacks because he served as a deputy in the AK Party for a period." Pointing out how Metiner turned his relationship with the AK Party into profit, Tayyar said, "Everyone knows what kind of interest-based relationships lie behind his fake bravado." Targeting Metiner, Tayyar added, "The supreme interests of the state are not matters that you can understand or comprehend."
