Congratulatory visit from IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu visited Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel. İmamoğlu visited Özel at his office.

Ekrem İmamoğlu had served as the Chairman of the Congress at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP.

Ekrem İmamoğlu and Özgür Özel appeared before the press after the meeting. İmamoğlu stated the following:

"Our prayers were for us to always be one, to be united, and to have a flawless and trouble-free period. In the first days of the new century, I was fortunate enough to serve as the Congress Chairman. The congress proceeded with great courtesy. I would like to thank our previous Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu here. I will visit him later. Today, I visited our Chairman Özgür Özel. I have completed my duty. May our congress be auspicious. May it be auspicious for both the CHP and our country."

CHP's new Chairman Özgür Özel stated the following:

"Our Mayor Ekrem showed courtesy. He visited me after the congress was completed. He is someone who does every job he undertakes perfectly. It was known that the congress could be tense. Mayor Ekrem showed that he was worthy of this duty. I thank him. Our Chairman had said that he would reach the safe harbor. That is exactly what happened. The safest harbor of the CHP is its most authoritative body, the Congress. Our congress, which began with complete courtesy, concluded in the same way. There was always something being talked about: what kind of relationship do you have with Mayor Ekrem? The relationship between us is a relationship of brotherhood and law. This brotherhood will carry the CHP to power."

Özel also announced that the group meeting would be held next Tuesday and the handover ceremony would take place after the certificate of election is received.
