April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day and the 104th anniversary of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) provided the occasion for a discussion on the Çorlu Train Massacre between CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Constitutional Court President Kadir Özkaya.

According to Ceren Bayar from Gazete Duvar, Özel stated that he would be unable to attend the handover ceremony at the Constitutional Court because he would be attending the verdict hearing of the Çorlu train accident case on the same day, emphasizing the importance of the hearing. Providing information to Özkaya regarding the trial process, Özel noted that the families and lawyers would be delivering their final statements.

Özel also stated that he would visit Özkaya at a later date.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The 17th hearing of the case regarding the train accident that occurred in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ in 2018, which resulted in the deaths of 25 people, including 7 children, and left 328 people injured, will be held on April 25.
