A criminal complaint has been filed against IYI Party Sungurlu Mayor Abdulkadir Şahiner of Çorum, alleging that he insulted, threatened, and physically assaulted a municipal staff member in his office.
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED
According to a report by Elvan Yılmaz from T24, Hasan K., a staff member at the Sungurlu Municipality, filed a criminal complaint with the Sungurlu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, alleging that Mayor Şahiner summoned him to his office, insulted and threatened him, and assaulted him.
ALLEGATION OF 'BEING FORCED TO WORK DESPITE MEDICAL REPORT'
Sefa Dağhan, the lawyer for the assaulted staff member Hasan K., stated that they are following the case closely and have submitted audio recordings as evidence to the prosecutor's office, which they claim demonstrate that the alleged crimes were committed.
Dağhan emphasized that his client was assaulted while ill and was forced to work despite having a medical report, calling this behavior incompatible with human dignity. He further stated that because the incident was not sudden but rather exhibited in a systematic and continuous manner over a period of time, it would also constitute the crime of torture.
