Criminal complaint filed against Meral Akşener!
Ayhan Karahan, spokesperson for the Bodrum Citizens' Initiative, announced that they have filed a criminal complaint against IYI Party leader Meral Akşener over her remarks, "We have witnessed political murders in our past, but they were honorable."
The Bodrum Citizens' Initiative has filed a criminal complaint regarding the remarks made by IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener during her speech in Sivas last week, in which she stated, "We have witnessed political murders in our past, but they were honorable, and that is why none of us were afraid."
According to a report in Gazete Duvar, the criminal complaint petition submitted to the Bodrum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requests that Akşener's words be evaluated as a confession and investigated accordingly.
"AKŞENER SAYS SHE OPENLY WITNESSED THESE MURDERS"
Ayhan Karahan, spokesperson for the Bodrum Citizens' Initiative, made the following statement regarding the criminal complaint:
“As is known, unsolved murders are a bleeding wound in this country. And for 982 weeks, the mothers of those who fell victim to unsolved murders have been gathering just to be able to reach their children's bones. However, 4 days ago, an important confession came regarding this painful reality that the average human conscience cannot accept. The suspect named Meral Akşener says she openly witnessed these murders.
It is obvious that suspect Akşener must be asked which political murders she witnessed and to what extent. If she is privy to so many political murders, it must be legally essential to investigate whether she had any involvement as well. But even more gravely, she defines these political or unsolved murders as 'honorable.' In other words, there is also praise for the murders and the killers or hitmen.”
The criminal complaint requests that Akşener be punished under the relevant articles of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) corresponding to the crimes she witnessed and praised, in proportion to her connection to and responsibility for the murders in question.
