Crisis continues in İYİ Party: Bilge Yılmaz: The main person responsible for the poor performance has not resigned

The İYİ Party, which had decided to enter the local elections independently, performed far below expectations. Following the local elections, Chair Meral Akşener had decided to hold a congress.

It is not yet known whether Akşener will be a candidate again at the congress. Bilge Yılmaz, who called on Akşener to resign, made evaluations regarding the reasons for the defeat in a statement on his social media account.

Emphasizing that the process regarding the suspicious money allegations involving Ümit Dikbayır, known as a relative of Akşener, was not managed well following the general elections, Yılmaz wrote the following:

"The İYİ Party continues to weaken because the main person responsible for the poor performance in the party has not resigned and given the party room to breathe. So, why did we experience this defeat as the İYİ Party?

A satisfactory process was not carried out regarding the suspicious financial relations brought up by the party leadership itself, and the matter was not clarified.

Unexplained and non-transparent choices were made in the parliamentary candidate lists. Qualified names were left out.

Although the vast majority of the support given to our party consisted of those who were dissatisfied and uncomfortable with the AK Party administration, the opposition was criticized more, more harshly, and with a more abrasive tone than the AK Party government. All these mistakes created a great sense of distrust in society. We must act by taking all of this and the expectations of our nation into account."
