Crisis in Muharrem İnce's potential return to CHP: Özgür Özel cold on that condition

A 30 million TL debt belonging to the Homeland Party (Memleket Partisi) has created a crisis regarding the potential return of its leader, Muharrem İnce, to the CHP. It has been learned that while Memleket Partisi officials requested that the party's debts and receivables be transferred to the CHP, the CHP has refused to accept such a transfer.

Crisis in Muharrem İnce's potential return to CHP: Özgür Özel cold on that condition

Claims that Memleket Partisi Chairman Muharrem İnce will return to the CHP continue to occupy the political agenda.

According to a report by Nefes Gazetesi, the Memleket Partisi, through a unanimous decision by its Party Assembly, granted full authority to Chairman Muharrem İnce for party officials to join the CHP and for the party to be dissolved, with all its debts and receivables transferred to the CHP.

Following this decision, Memleket Partisi officials contacted the CHP and requested that all party members be allowed to join the CHP. However, the financial situation, one of the most critical aspects of the process, led to a disagreement between the parties.

CHP NOT KEEN ON TAKING OVER DEBTS

During the negotiations, it emerged that the Memleket Partisi has approximately 30 million lira in debt. While the CHP leadership gave the green light for Muharrem İnce and party officials to join the CHP, they clearly stated that they would not accept the transfer of debts and receivables.

In their statements regarding the matter, CHP staff members said, "We have only heard that Mr. Muharrem will join the party, but we have no definitive information. It is not currently on our agenda."

ÖZEL KEPT HIS DISTANCE FROM İNCE'S CONDITION

On the other hand, last week, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, and Memleket Partisi Chairman Muharrem İnce met at the Çankaya Municipality's Ahlatlıbel facilities.

It is alleged that during the meeting, İnce expressed that he had no expectations for any specific position and was ready to take on any task assigned within the CHP. However, it was noted that İnce was insistent on the collective participation of the Memleket Partisi into the CHP, while Özel remained distant toward this request.

CHP staff members pointed out that this situation could create certain legal complications, particularly during Constitutional Court audits, and stated that they were approaching the process with caution.

While the outcome of the negotiations is awaited with curiosity, the fate of the Memleket Partisi and the role İnce will assume within the CHP will become clear in the coming days.
