Critical merger message for 4 parties! 'Today is not the day for ego'
Speaking on claims that the Saadet, DEVA, Gelecek, and Yeniden Refah parties might merge, Gelecek Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu said, "Today is not the day for ego. I hope we can realize this merger before we enter the election cycle."
There has been notable activity in political circles for some time regarding whether the Saadet Party, DEVA, Gelecek, and Yeniden Refah Party will unite under a common roof. While some party representatives state that contacts are ongoing, it is noted that some figures are approaching the idea of gathering under a single roof with caution. Despite this, it is said that the traffic of discussions between the four parties continues.
Gelecek Party Chairman Prof. Dr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, in his assessment during a broadcast on Ekol TV last night, expressed that the Saadet, DEVA, Gelecek, and Yeniden Refah parties could meet on a common ground.
Suggesting that all social transformations since 1950 have occurred with the approval of the center-conservative base, Davutoğlu made the assessment: "Menderes, Demirel, Özal, Erbakan, Erdoğan... Major mass transformations have always happened here. There is a blockage here. Because there is an economic crisis. There is no trust in the law. There are deficiencies in the functioning of the state. Young people have no hope left."
"THERE IS A LEADERSHIP DEBATE IN THE AKP"
Stating that there is a thought of uncertainty at the grassroots level regarding the post-Erdoğan era, Davutoğlu said, "Turkey's fate has been tied to one person. There are debates within the AKP about whether this person or that person will be the leader... Turkey's problem is not the question of who will come after Erdoğan. We need much greater reforms."
"TODAY IS NOT THE DAY FOR EGO"
Speaking about the discussions on the merger of the parties, Davutoğlu used the expressions, "If there is a blockage there, we need to produce a strong alternative. Today is not the day for ego. Saadet, DEVA, Gelecek, and Yeniden Refah can merge. I will do everything in my power. I hope that we will achieve this merger before we enter the election cycle."
