Critical week for the CHP convention calendar

The CHP's Central Executive Board (MYK) and Party Assembly (PM) will meet this week at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. One of the main agenda items for the meetings will be the calendar for the convention process, which is set to begin in September.

The MYK meeting is expected to begin with a presentation by Kılıçdaroğlu. Current domestic and foreign political developments will be evaluated during the meeting. Subsequently, the convention calendar will be discussed, with a focus on the dates for district and provincial congresses and the work programs of party organizations.

The MYK agenda also includes internal party divisions, the attitudes of mayors, decisions regarding absolute nullity, and the roadmap to be followed concerning these issues. The meeting is also expected to discuss the details of the celebrations for the CHP's 103rd anniversary on September 9.

PM AGENDA INCLUDES BYLAWS AND DISCIPLINARY ISSUES

At the Party Assembly, which will convene following the MYK, the evaluations made by the MYK and current political developments will be examined. The status of provincial disciplinary boards will also be discussed at the PM.

Requests to increase the number of members on provincial executive boards under Article 17 of the party bylaws, as well as requests to increase the number of members on district executive boards in accordance with Article 15, will be evaluated.

Another topic of the meeting will be requests for pardons regarding disciplinary penalties. Article 21 of the bylaws grants the PM the authority to decide on the pardon of disciplinary penalties upon the proposal of the Chairman or the MYK. The pardoning of finalized penalties can be decided by the PM, taking into account the written application of the penalized individual and the opinion of the relevant party unit.
