Prof. Dr. Şenol Babuşcu, Head of the International Finance and Banking Department at Başkent University, criticized the promises made to pensioners by AKP's Istanbul candidate Murat Kurum and Ankara candidate Turgut Altınok in a post on X.

Babuşcu said the following in his post:

"Istanbul AKP candidate Murat Kurum announced yesterday that if he wins the election, he will provide 2,500 TL in monthly aid to pensioners living in Istanbul.

Following Istanbul AKP candidate Murat Kurum, Ankara AKP candidate Turgut Altınok also said, "We will give pensioners their due."

AKP governments have failed to solve the problems of pensioners for 22 years, and now it has come down to the municipalities..."
