DEM Party makes get-well-soon call to Davutoğlu following investigation

DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan held a phone conversation with Future Party (Gelecek Partisi) Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, who is under investigation on charges of "insulting the President."

In a written statement issued by the DEM Party Press Office, it was reported that Hatimoğulları and Bakırhan conveyed their get-well-soon wishes to Davutoğlu.

The statement noted that the conversation also touched upon assessments regarding freedom of expression for politicians. It was conveyed that Hatimoğulları and Bakırhan stated they do not find it appropriate for investigations to be launched against party leaders and politicians for expressing their thoughts.

An investigation had been launched against Ahmet Davutoğlu on charges of "insulting the President," citing his public statements as the grounds.
