DEM Party's Temelli defends 'Apo' slogans

During the "We Are Meeting for Our Bread" protest held in Sancaktepe, DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Sezai Temelli and TİP Chairman Erkan Baş made significant statements. While criticisms of the government's budget policies were voiced at the event, a warning issued by the police to Temelli regarding the "Biji serok Apo" slogan as being "unlawful" sparked controversy.

DEFENDED APO SLOGANS

When participants began chanting "Biji serok Apo" during the protest, the police warned that the slogan was "unlawful," stating, "End these unlawful slogans immediately."

Responding to this, Temelli expressed his reaction by saying, "You cannot decide that those slogans are unlawful. This public decides that." Temelli emphasized that the public has been struggling for peace for many years and that this struggle will continue with the February 27 manifesto.

EMPHASIS ON PEACE AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE

Temelli continued his remarks as follows:

"This public has waged a struggle for peace for decades, and it will uphold that struggle with the February 27 manifesto as well. That manifesto did not just pave the way for peace; it also paved the way for a struggle against poverty. We know that if there is war, there is poverty. Because it went to the UAVs, armed drones, cannons, rifles, and bullets that belong to us."

Temelli stated that those who avoid a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue are turning it into capital, expressing that peace, justice, and the fight against poverty are the priorities.

WE WILL GO TO IMRALI, WE WILL BRING PEACE

Temelli also touched upon the importance of the steps to be taken in the peace process. "We will go to İmralı, and we will bring peace to this country. We will regain our bread, which is our right. Because we have no other choice," he said.

Finally, Temelli stated that no one should avoid negotiations and that the necessary laws to ensure peace must be implemented as soon as possible. "Let no one run away from negotiations or the table anymore. The way to grow this struggle is to implement the laws that are required for peace," he said.
