DEM Party's second round of visits continues: Meeting held with TİP delegation

Following the call by PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan for the organization to lay down its arms and dissolve itself, the DEM Party delegation is continuing its second round of visits to political parties. The delegation met with the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

DEM Party's second round of visits continues: Meeting held with TİP delegation

Following the call by PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan for the organization to lay down its arms and dissolve itself, the DEM Party is conducting its second round of visits to political parties. In this context, the DEM Party delegation met with the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) delegation at the TBMM today.

MEETING LASTED 1 HOUR

Following the meeting, which lasted approximately one hour, TİP Chairman Erkan Baş made statements to the press. Emphasizing the importance of meetings held with political parties to evaluate the process, Baş stated that the government must also take steps. Expressing that conducting a transparent discussion process under the roof of the TBMM is critical for peace, Baş also made assessments regarding developments in Syria and initiatives concerning Alevis.

DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan also made statements regarding the process following the meeting. Drawing attention to the developments in Syria, Hatimoğulları underscored how important peace is for the Middle East and Turkey.

The TİP delegation included Chairman and Istanbul MP Erkan Baş, TİP Spokesperson Sera Kadıgil, Istanbul MP Ahmet Şık, and Deputy Chairman Doğan Ergün.
