Deniz Yavuzyılmaz reacts to the plan to privatize Bosphorus bridges

YENİ Party Zonguldak MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has reacted to the plan to privatize certain bridges and highways.

In a statement on his social media account, Yavuzyılmaz argued that if the plan is implemented, there will be no public-operated bridges or tunnels left for Bosphorus crossings in Istanbul.

Yavuzyılmaz stated that if the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge are privatized, all Bosphorus crossings will be taken out of public hands.

"CITIZENS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE ENDS MEET IN ISTANBUL"

Referring to the economic crisis, Yavuzyılmaz said, "Citizens who cannot make ends meet due to the economic crisis will no longer be able to bring the two sides of Istanbul together either."

Stating that the plan also covers crossings in the Anatolia-Europe and Europe-Anatolia directions, Yavuzyılmaz claimed that citizens would be turned into "compulsory customers." In his statement, Yavuzyılmaz expressed the view that "this privatization is unconstitutional."
