The election for the deputy presidency of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) has begun in Ankara. Members of the TBB Assembly are casting their votes for the deputy presidency, which became vacant after Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer was arrested and removed from his post.
Two candidates are competing in the election. The People's Alliance has nominated AKP Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın for the TBB deputy presidency.

The candidate for the YENİ Party is Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce.

Ünlüce's candidacy was announced by YENİ Party Eskişehir Provincial Chair Talat Yalaz.
The new deputy president of the TBB is expected to be determined once the voting process is completed.
