Dervişoğlu reacts sharply to the broadcast suspension penalty given to SÖZCÜ TV! 'Direct censorship'
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu reacted sharply to the 10-day broadcast suspension penalty imposed on SÖZCÜ TV. Dervişoğlu stated that this penalty constitutes censorship of the press and declared that Article 26 of the Constitution has been violated.
RTÜK, which warned television channels broadcasting daily live coverage of the protests that began following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, has announced its new penalties. RTÜK imposed a 10-day broadcast suspension on SÖZCÜ TV, while also ordering the suspension of 5 programs on Halk TV.

"IT IS A VIOLATION OF RIGHTS"
Dervişoğlu used the following expressions during his appearance on the SÖZCÜ TV broadcast:
This directly means the implementation of censorship on the press. Article 26 of our Constitution is extremely clear. What is being restricted here is the nation's right to receive information. A right guaranteed by the Constitution is being violated. This is direct censorship.
