Dervişoğlu reacts to the scandal in Cizre: 'Did you make promises behind closed doors?'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made notable assessments regarding current debates during his speech at his party's TBMM Group Meeting. The phrase "There is no statute of limitations for treason," which he uttered during a part of his speech, was met with a standing ovation from party members for a long time.

HE CONTINUED HIS CRITICISM REGARDING THE PROCESS

Touching once again on the "Terror-Free Turkey" process being carried out by the government in his speech, Dervişoğlu claimed that the goal of the process was the release of Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, and spoke as follows:

"This process is a trap they have set to release the ringleader. Saying 'Let him come and speak in Parliament, let him benefit from the right to hope' is proof of this intention."

Dervişoğlu stated that the government wing denies these allegations, expressing that the reason for this is that "they know well that the nation will not consent to it." Pointing to the statements coming from the organization's ringleaders, Dervişoğlu said it is evident that weapons have not been completely laid down.

"THE HONOR OF THE STATE CANNOT BE TRAMPLED UPON IN THIS MANNER"

Hardening his tone, Dervişoğlu stated that the organization is still active and addressed the government with these words:

"What promises did you make to whom that you do not hesitate to lie to your nation? You are letting these marauders trample on the honor of our state."

Dervişoğlu also expressed that no independent state would "allow foreign forces to walk around in its own territory with military camouflage and long-barreled weapons." He described the Şırnak Governor's Office inviting Masoud Barzani as a guest of honor as a "mistake."

NEW DEBATE OVER CİZRE

Continuing his remarks regarding the Northern Iraq Regional Administration, Dervişoğlu reacted to Barzani being hosted in Cizre:

"This individual, who said 'I wouldn't even give a cat' when Turkey asked him for terrorists, might be happy with the somersaults of certain figures, but our nation's heart has been wounded."

Referring to the images in the Cizre district of Şırnak, Dervişoğlu used the following expressions:

"The name of the place where that dignity was trampled upon is Cizre. Has the Cizre district of Şırnak been annexed to Northern Iraq without us knowing? Did you make promises behind closed doors?"

Arguing that the developments in question are "organized business," Dervişoğlu said that what has been done supports "attempts to pave the way" for Mazloum Abdi, a PKK leader in Syria.

"YOU ARE MAKING CONCESSIONS FROM THE PODIUMS"

At the end of his speech, Dervişoğlu, who claimed that President Erdoğan remained silent, argued that the government is taking steps backward in the process:
