İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu criticized the statement made by Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum regarding the election date during his speech at his party's group meeting.
Reacting to Uçum's words that the election date had become "largely" clear, Dervişoğlu emphasized that the Grand National Assembly of Turkey must make a decision for elections to be renewed.
Dervişoğlu stated, "What has become clear? The Constitution is clear. It is clear that a parliamentary decision is required for the renewal of elections. Has the Parliament made that decision? No!"
Continuing his statement, Dervişoğlu posed questions to Uçum, saying, "In what capacity is this individual announcing the result of a decision that today's Parliament has not yet made? Let me ask more clearly. Where is this incomplete will coming from? Which member of parliament has made a commitment to you without even having a proposal before them? Or are you blackmailing the members of parliament who are the representatives of the national will?"
