DEVA Party reacts to AKP after not receiving congress invitation

DEVA Party reacts to AKP after not receiving congress invitation

It has emerged that the AKP did not invite 3 parties to its 8th Grand Ordinary Congress, which will be held on Sunday, February 23.

While invitations were sent to the CHP, MHP, IYI Party, Great Unity Party (BBP), HÜDAPAR, New Welfare Party (YRP), DSP, Felicity Party (Saadet Party), and Patriotic Party (Vatan Party), no invitations were sent to the DEM Party, nor to the DEVA Party and Future Party (Gelecek Party), which were founded by those who left the AKP.

A statement regarding the matter has come from the DEVA Party.

"THIS SITUATION IS A DISGRACE FOR THE RULING POWER"

DEVA Party Deputy Chairman İdris Şahin made the following assessment regarding the issue:

"As of March 9, we will complete the fifth year of our establishment. They do not invite us to any holidays or any of their events. Actually, if you look at it, this is not our shortcoming, but the AK Party's own disgrace. Their perspective on democracy... The discrimination they reflect even in holiday visits is an indicator of the kind of governance mentality they possess. They ensure the continuation of their lawless rule by dividing, marginalizing, and intimidating society. We do not place much importance on whether they invite us or not. This is the helplessness of this government.

Because it is a congress of a political party governing the country, and they are sending invitations by discriminating between some political parties represented in parliament, specifically the DEVA Party, the Future Party, and the DEM Party. Until 2024, they did not have a similar relationship with the Felicity Party. This time, they have extended an invitation to them. This situation is a disgrace in terms of democracy and for the power governing the country. We do not see their failure to invite us to the congress as a deficiency. It creates the conviction in us that we are in a rightful position, standing firm against a structure that has not received its share of democracy in this country. May it be for the best."
