Devlet Bahçeli held a meeting with Ufuk Uras

Uras first shared the meeting on his social media account.

Following the meeting, Ufuk Uras announced that he had met with DEM Party Co-Chairman Tuncer Bakırhan, Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan, and Ahmet Türk, the Co-Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee.

WHO IS UFUK URAS?

Ufuk Uras is one of Turkey's well-known politicians, academics, and writers. Born in Istanbul in 1959, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University. He completed his master's degree in social sciences at the same university and worked as an academic for many years. Conducting studies on the history of political thought, Uras has emerged as one of the prominent figures of left-wing and democratic movements in Turkey.

He began as one of the founders of the Freedom and Solidarity Party (ÖDP) and served as the party's chairman for a period. He was elected as an independent deputy from Istanbul in the 2007 general elections with the support of independent candidates by the DTP.

Following his tenure as a deputy, he became a founder and Central Executive Board member of the Equality and Democracy Party (EDP), a general assembly member of the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK), and a founder of the Greens and Left Future Party.
