Devlet Bahçeli's 'Grey Wolf' response to Barzani: Calls Öcalan's message 'reasonable'!
MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli commented on the meeting held with Öcalan on İmralı Island, describing the PKK leader's message as "reasonable and specific." He responded to harsh criticisms from Masoud Barzani's office with an emphasis on the "Grey Wolf."
In recent days, members of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) traveled to İmralı Island to hold a meeting with the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan. Following the meeting, which was attended by AKP's Hüseyin Yayman, MHP's Feti Yıldız, and DEM Party's Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, the message from Öcalan contained in the İmralı minutes was released to the public.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli issued a statement regarding Öcalan's message. Bahçeli described the messages from Öcalan, known as the founding leader of the PKK, as "reasonable and specific." Bahçeli stated the following on the matter: "The messages from the PKK's founding leadership are reasonable and specific. There is no meaning or significance in distorting the process. Alongside physical weapons, mental weapons must also be abandoned." This statement drew attention to the need for the process to be interpreted correctly.
'GREY WOLF' RESPONSE TO BARZANI
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli also touched upon the recent visit of Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), to Cizre. Bahçeli described the presence of foreign uniformed soldiers walking the streets of Cizre with long-barreled weapons during Barzani's visit as a "disgrace."
A harsh response to Bahçeli's statement came from Masoud Barzani's office. The statement from Barzani's office read: "We thought that God had guided Devlet Bahçeli and that he had abandoned racism and chauvinism. However, it appears that he is still the same old Grey Wolf, only now he is cloaked in sheep's clothing." These statements have increased tensions between Barzani and Bahçeli.
GREAT PROVOCATION CANNOT INTIMIDATE BAHÇELİ
In response to the harsh reactions from Barzani's office, MHP leader Bahçeli replied, "The Cizre provocation and certain statements will not intimidate us. I was certainly a Grey Wolf, and I will pass on as one."
