Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk stated that a Turkey free of terrorism was left to the AKP and drew attention to the number of martyrs between the 2015-2023 period.

"1,513 SOLDIERS, 415 POLICE OFFICERS"

Öztürk said the following:

"Why do the actions of the separatist terrorist organization increase as the election period approaches? Our youth fall as martyrs, and after the messages of 'our hearts are burned,' the families of the martyrs are left alone with their pain. Between June 7, 2015, and December 26, 2023, we had a total of 2,065 martyrs, including 1,513 soldiers, 415 police officers, and 133 security guards."

INSTRUCTION REGARDING MARTYR FUNERALS FOR CHP MEMBERS

Noting that he was not surprised by the fact that Kenan Öztürk, an AKP parliamentary candidate nominee in Gaziantep, tore up the wreath sent by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to a martyr's funeral, Öztürk stated, "Let us also remember that during his ministry, Süleyman Soylu requested that CHP members not be allowed into martyr funeral ceremonies. During the same minister's term, the then-CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was almost lynched when he attended a martyr's funeral in the village of Akkuzulu in Çubuk. Kılıçdaroğlu was not even wished a speedy recovery."
