Democrat Party (DP) Chairman Gültekin Uysal drew attention to the date of August 19 in a statement regarding the fund investigation posted on his social media account.
Uysal argued that a "confidential memorandum" which he stated was sent by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the Capital Markets Board (SPK) should be further examined in terms of the investigation.
Uysal alleged that 440 people, who were reportedly aware of the memorandum in question, carried out a total of 401 billion lira in "suspicious fund sales" between September 1 and September 16.
Pointing to the date of August 31 in his statement, Uysal claimed that a Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, who he alleged had a "causal link" to Bulls Portföy, was removed from office and quietly appointed as a member of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK).
“Even this part of the scandal alone proves what kind of political-bureaucratic network is at work. There is no negligence; there is a heist where everyone is aware of everything.”
Uysal's statement has brought the allegations of a potential flow of information between public institutions, the bureaucracy, and financial markets in the fund investigation back to the agenda. There has been no new statement reflected to the public from the relevant institutions regarding the allegations.
