Early election remarks from Bekir Bozdağ: 'If it decides to renew the elections...'

Bekir Bozdağ, who came to Yozgat to attend various programs, visited the AK Party Provincial Headquarters.

Later, attending the Yozgat Narrowed Provincial Advisory Council Meeting organized by his party at the Bilal Şahin Cultural Center, Bozdağ said in his speech that he was honored to be in his father's hometown.

"IF THE TBMM DECIDES TO RENEW THE ELECTIONS..."

Defending the view that there is no constitutional obstacle to President Erdoğan's candidacy again, Bozdağ stated the following:

"On the contrary, there is a constitutional opportunity. If the Grand National Assembly of Turkey decides to renew the parliamentary elections before the second term expires, it is our President's constitutional right to be a candidate again and be elected president. This discretion belongs to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. If the Assembly wants to use this opportunity and grant this right, no one can say, 'This does not comply with the constitution, this is against the constitution.'

Therefore, I believe that the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will pave the way for a strong Turkey to continue its path in the new term with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, one of the world's most respected leaders who is strong, capable, courageous, sincere, and devoted to his nation and state, and will grant him the right to candidacy in the new term within the framework of constitutional possibilities."

AKP Yozgat deputies Abdulkadir Akgül and Süleyman Şahan also gave speeches at the program. The meeting continued behind closed doors.
