An important presidential-level visit from Egypt to Turkey will take place after a 12-year break.

The visit will be held at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is expected to be in Ankara on Wednesday, marking his first visit to Turkey.

Sisi will be welcomed with an official ceremony at the Presidential Complex in Beştepe, and the two leaders will discuss Israel's attacks on Gaza and peace efforts during their one-on-one meeting.

The meeting will address efforts to increase the humanitarian aid Turkey provides to Gaza via Egypt. Israel's attacks on Lebanon, the expectation of retaliation from Iran, and the rising tension in the Middle East are also among the topics on the two leaders' agenda.

FIRST MEETING

Within the scope of the visit, the Turkey-Egypt High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council will hold its first meeting under the chairmanship of the presidents.

Cooperation will be discussed in line with the goal of increasing the trade volume between Turkey and Egypt, which is approaching 10 billion dollars, to 15 billion dollars.

Agreements in the field of defense are also among the topics on the two leaders' agenda.

New steps to develop cooperation in areas such as tourism, transportation, and energy are expected to be taken, and agreements are expected to be signed.
