Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has shared his first message from Marmara Prison. Meeting with lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz, İmamoğlu delivered the message, "We are well, we are resilient, we are entrusted to our nation." His lawyer, Hüseyin Ersöz, stated that İmamoğlu and the other detained mayors appeared very resilient and well, and that they expect to file their appeals within this week.

Ersöz said, "When I met with them after a tiring 4-day detention process, they were curious about the atmosphere outside. We talked about that. He was strong and steadfast. He was also aware of the unlawful situation."
