CHP Chairman Özgür Özel shared an emotional post on his social media account following the passing of Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay at the age of 37.

Regarding Gülşah Durbay's passing, Özel expressed the pain of losing her, saying, "One cannot prepare for some farewells. Everyone knew, but we were the only ones who didn't. We could not accept this end..."

In his post, Özgür Özel emphasized that companionship is not just walking together, but sharing the same fear, fatigue, hope, and dream. Stating, "Ferdi, Gülşah, and I saw the same dream; our shared dreams had come true," Özel noted the deep sorrow he felt over losing Durbay following the passing of Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek.

Recalling that he had visited Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay in the intensive care unit at Manisa City Hospital before her passing, Özel wrote, "Now, what kind of question is this? What kind of test is this?? How can one endure??? Oh patience, oh patience, oh patience..."
