Erdoğan had said 'My reaction was to the moderator': Efkan Ala's 'one minute' reminder to Israel

AKP Deputy Chairman and Bursa MP Efkan Ala attended the commissioning ceremony for 15 buses added to the Burulaş fleet by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. Addressing the conflicts between Israel and Palestine, Ala said, "Our responsibility does not end within our own geography. Regardless of which corner of the world it is in, if there are issues that go against our beliefs, values, and policies, we consider it a duty to intervene immediately with the tools of our foreign policy. We are also aware that we have a debt to humanity. While we are experiencing good news in Bursa today, we are simultaneously in deep sorrow."

"THIS IS DISREGARDING HUMANITY"

Ala continued his words as follows:

"Our brothers and sisters in Gaza and Palestine are being condemned to deprivation and death. Humanity has been placed under a blockade there. The attacks being carried out are against the conscience of all humanity," said Ala, adding, "The funerals of children have filled the areas due to the bombing of the hospital. This is an attack on humanity and on those who watch it. This is disregarding humanity. As Turkey, we have been by the side of our brothers and sisters there from the beginning. We are defending their rights, and we will continue to defend them. This has no cost. You cannot destroy humanity. That is actually digging your own grave."

"PEOPLE'S CONSCIENCES CANNOT BE BLOCKADED"

Stating that no state can build its future on mortar mixed with the blood of children, Ala expressed, "It only digs a pit for itself. It darkens its own future. You cannot condemn consciences. You may perhaps draw a blockade around people. You may blockade bodies, I am telling Israel; you cannot blockade people's consciences. You are killing people and children one by one there, but you cannot kill humanity. You cannot kill Palestine in its entirety. You are darkening your own future. You are firing those bombs and digging those pits for your own future."

"WITH ATROCITIES, YOU ONLY WEAVE YOUR OWN DARKNESS"

Efkan Ala continued his words;

"As the grandchildren of a nation that ruled three continents with justice for 650 years, we say with our experienced knowledge that it is justice that keeps states and societies standing. It is justice that brightens the future of societies, states, and nations, shows them the way, and carries them to their goals. With atrocities, you only weave your own darkness. The people there may pay the cost. People outside pay with their sorrows and their actions. But the ones who will pay the real cost are those who commit these atrocities, and they are paying it. They also do not learn from history. What kind of understanding, what kind of state understanding can justify this, can explain this? Those who will drown in the darkness created by this atrocity are those who deem this atrocity appropriate for the innocent people there."

"WE PUT THEM IN THEIR PLACE IN DAVOS"

Adding that they have always stood by the Palestinians as Turkey, Ala said, "Just as we put them in their place in Davos by saying 'One minute,' we stand at the same point today. We are reminding them of whatever needs to be done across the world by speaking with all heads of state, starting with our President. We are calling them to duty regarding what needs to be done. But let us know this: one evil cannot be eliminated with another evil. Therefore, we are inviting both humanity and Israel to the right point. Otherwise, the whole world knows that we make fear afraid. We want humanity to solve its problems with an attitude worthy of human beings. We are certainly making progress as a result of these initiatives. Regarding humanitarian aid, our President has been the leader who has focused on the issue the most by holding meetings. Progress has been made, a corridor will be opened for humanitarian aid, and entries are starting from a border gate, but it is very insufficient. Our proposed solution there is this: Israel must end these atrocities and withdraw to its own territory. Our Palestinian brothers and sisters will establish their own state with East Jerusalem as its capital and govern themselves. All of humanity and the Islamic world will also stand by them and save them, not just by watching, but by taking effective measures."

"THEY THINK KILLING CHILDREN IS A SKILL"

Continuing his criticisms, Ala said, "If Israel follows whims, puts reason aside, and becomes condemned to the understanding of the rabble, they will think killing children is a skill. All of human history on earth shows us that these policies and this atrocity have nowhere to go. They only build their own darkness. I wish patience for all our brothers and sisters. I pray for God's mercy upon the martyrs. We are shouting from Bursa; we are with them, we are by their side. We are doing and will do whatever falls to us."

Ala concluded his words as follows;

"We are a nation that does not covet an inch of anyone's land. We, together with the Turkey-Azerbaijan brotherhood, threw the 30-year occupation of our Azerbaijani brothers into the trash bin. Even when we had the power, we did not take a single step into the lands of those who occupied those territories afterward."

ERDOĞAN HAD SAID 'MY REACTION WAS TO THE MODERATOR'

Following the Davos Summit regarding his much-discussed 'One minute' outburst, Erdoğan had made the statement, "I did not target the Israeli people, President Peres, or the Jewish people in any way. My attitude here was toward the moderator."
