Erdoğan holds phone call with Brazilian President Lula da Silva

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. A statement regarding the call was issued by the Directorate of Communications.

According to the statement, the two leaders evaluated bilateral relations between Turkey and Brazil, as well as regional and global developments. The development of cooperation in various fields, particularly investment, trade, and the defense industry, was on the agenda during the meeting.

It was reported that Erdoğan expressed his satisfaction with the progress of relations between the two countries, which were built on an advanced foundation approximately 20 years ago.

As conveyed by the Directorate of Communications, Erdoğan stated his belief that an economic cooperation model could be implemented to increase the prosperity of the Turkish and Brazilian people against protectionist trends. Erdoğan also expressed that the policies of both countries, which prioritize peace in regional and global matters, contribute to world peace.
