Erdoğan makes 'holiday bonus' announcement after cabinet meeting. Sets the date

Erdoğan also announced when the Eid al-Adha bonuses will be paid and the duration of the holiday determined for public employees.

I respectfully greet my citizens who follow us in our 81 provinces and in different countries of the world. I wish God's mercy upon our 2 pilots who were martyred in our plane that crashed during training this morning.

"WHAT MATTERS IS THE APPRECIATION OF OUR NATION"

We are the government of all 85 million. We are the government of those who voted for us as well as those who made a different choice. We do not pay attention to the prophets of doom, we do not listen to the merchants of discord. We are fighting to grow Turkey without hiding behind excuses.

As a government, our only reference is our services and our works. What we have brought to Turkey and our goals are clear. What matters to us is the appreciation of our nation.

We opened 5 courthouses with a total of 52 thousand square meters of indoor space. We started the construction of a courthouse building with 972 thousand square meters of indoor space. We completed the construction of 2 new forensic medicine buildings. During this period, 14 penal execution institutions with a total capacity of 11 thousand 370 people were put into operation. The number of our judges and prosecutors reached 24 thousand 829. In the last year, we appointed a total of 2 thousand 294 judges and prosecutors.

"WE HAVE SIGNED IMPORTANT CHANGES"

386 SEGBIS devices that provide remote participation in hearings were installed and 1 million 708 thousand SEGBIS interviews were conducted.

We have signed important changes with the 8th Judicial Package. Our 9th judicial package is on the agenda of our Parliament. Nearly 1 million 340 thousand disputes have been resolved through the mediation mechanism in legal disputes.

The minimum wage, effective from January 1, 2024, was determined as 17 thousand 2 TL net. Thus, the net minimum wage increase rate compared to the previous period was 49 percent, and the increase rate compared to the January 2023 period was 100 percent.

"STRONG FAMILY, STRONG TURKEY"

We have made the fight against violence against women our fundamental struggle. We provide support to Palestinian women and children who are victims of war. We provided psycho-social support to 1.7 million people. We made a payment of 36 billion 360 million liras within the scope of home care. In the last year, we placed 1 thousand 33 of our children with foster families. We will continue to expand our activities in this field with the vision of a strong family, strong Turkey.

WHEN WILL THE HOLIDAY BONUSES BE PAID?

We increased the lowest pension by a net 82 percent compared to January 2023. In October 2023, we paid 5 thousand liras to all our retirees as a one-time payment. The retirement bonus increased by 50 percent to 3 thousand liras as of 2024. We are depositing the Eid al-Adha bonus into the accounts of our retirees between June 10-14.

"OUR CITIZENS' DEBT WAS ERASED"

In December 2023, the debts of our citizens who had general health insurance premium debts were erased. We increased the support amount in the minimum wage support application for employers to 700 liras. A total of 99.1 billion liras in minimum wage support was provided to employers. In the last year, by expanding our reimbursement list, a total of 570 drugs, including 128 cancer drugs, were included in the reimbursement scope. We made it easier for our patients with health reports to go to their family physicians and have their prescriptions written without waiting in line at hospitals.

We broke the record in the history of the Republic by increasing daily oil production in Gabar to over 43 thousand 380 barrels, and we are targeting 100 thousand barrels per day by the end of the year. The construction of the first reactor of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is 90 percent complete, and mechanical tests have begun in the reactor.

'HOLIDAY' ANNOUNCEMENT

Erdoğan announced that the holiday for public employees will be 9 days.
