Erdoğan praises Bahçeli for shaking hands with DEM Party members: We find it very valuable
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated in his speech at his party's group meeting that he welcomed MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's handshake with DEM Party deputies. He also criticized CHP leader Özgür Özel.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at his party's group meeting.
Evaluating MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's handshake with the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) deputies, Erdoğan said, "We welcome it and find it valuable. We hope that the hand extended by the People's Alliance will be properly understood by its addressees as well."
STATEMENTS REGARDING THE CLOSED SESSION IN THE TBMM
Erdoğan also touched upon the closed session on "Israel" held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) on October 8.
Targeting Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel, he said, "Both of our ministers presented the picture with full clarity for those whose doors of perception are open. We received the statements made by the CHP Chairman after the meeting with regret. The CHP Chairman is chasing cheap polemics."
WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY?
Speaking to reporters after the closed session, CHP leader Özgür Özel had stated, "We knew that Israel attacking Turkey was something that could not happen with reason, logic, power, or the duties of international organizations. He had stated that an artificial agenda was being created by the government so that Turkey's real problems would not be discussed."
OCTOBER 6-8 EVENTS
In his speech, Erdoğan referred to the 10th anniversary of the October 6-8 events, saying, "We do not forget our losses even if 100 years pass. Those who played a role in the October 6-8 events have been held accountable before independent Turkish courts. Politics cannot be done while holding a weapon in one hand. There is no place for terror politics that leans on the mountains." He also added, "It is expected that everyone understands there is absolutely no place for violence in democratic politics."
CRITICISMS TOWARD ISRAEL
Drawing attention to the situation in Gaza, Erdoğan said, "The spiritual and material bill for the massacre in Gaza is growing. History will never forgive those who give a standing ovation to a monster that has the blood of tens of thousands of children, women, and civilians on its hands. Israel is a Zionist terrorist organization." Criticizing Netanyahu's invitation to the US Congress, he said, "We will not compromise on our security. The end of the delusion of promised lands is frustration."
Erdoğan stated that Turkey is in a good position regarding the provision of security and public order in society compared to the past and European countries. "The recent murders and unfortunate incidents have caused our nation to hesitate about feeling safe. Taking the necessary measures is our primary duty," he said.
JUDICIAL REFORM
Erdoğan emphasized that if there is a bottleneck in the police force and the justice system, it will be resolved. "We will carry out the necessary legal regulations. We will take the necessary steps so that someone with 5 criminal records can be tried while under arrest," he said.
