Erdoğan's message in Rize had sparked much discussion: Government responds to early election claims

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik responded to early election debates in a statement following his party's Central Executive Board meeting. Çelik said that the expressions used by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his speech in Rize should not be interpreted as a signal for an early election.

Addressing the comments that emerged following Erdoğan's words regarding "the upcoming elections ahead of us," Çelik emphasized that there is no election on the party's agenda.

It is clear that it has nothing to do with an early election. It was not an early election signal; there is no election on our agenda. Our President's words are related to the organization.

— Ömer Çelik, AK Party Spokesperson

In his speech in Rize, President Erdoğan had stated, "I renew my belief that we will successfully overcome the upcoming elections ahead of us in this unity and solidarity." These words had brought early election debates back to the agenda in political circles.

Another topic in Çelik's statement was the new constitution. The AK Party Spokesperson stated that the nation should be at the center of the constitution to be prepared, assessing that "a constitution whose subject is the nation must be made."
