Erdoğan signs: Forest areas declared industrial zones

With the signature of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the forest status of certain areas in the provinces of Samsun and Zonguldak has been revoked. The decision was published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.

With this change, new forest areas at least twice the size of the areas removed from forest boundaries will be allocated in their place.

NEW FOREST AREAS TO BE REFORESTED

According to the legislation, larger properties will be reforested to replace the regions where forest status was revoked, and these areas will be allocated to the General Directorate of Forestry.

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change will transfer the areas in question to the General Directorate of Forestry and accelerate new reforestation efforts.
