Erdoğan speaks with UAE President Al Nahyan: Emphasis on defense industry and economy
During the meeting between AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan and UAE President Al Nahyan, bilateral relations, regional developments, and diplomatic issues were discussed.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the statement made on the Communications Directorate's social media account, the meeting covered bilateral relations between Turkey and the UAE, as well as regional and global issues.
The statement noted that Erdoğan expressed that cooperation between the two countries will continue to increase in many areas, primarily in the defense industry and the economy. It was recorded that Erdoğan stated that efforts to improve relations are ongoing.
Regional developments were also on the agenda during the meeting. It was reported that Erdoğan said Turkey is making efforts to end the Iran-US tension and similar conflict processes in the region, and that peace-oriented diplomatic initiatives will continue.
It was further stated that President Erdoğan emphasized that attacks against brotherly countries in the region are not approved of and drew attention to the importance of cooperation between Turkey and the UAE on other regional issues as well.
