Erdoğan to visit Azerbaijan
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, to be held in Gabala on October 7, at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran announced that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which will be held in the city of Gabala, Azerbaijan, on October 7, 2025, at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Duran stated that the theme of this year's summit will be "Regional Peace and Security." In his statement, he noted that the meetings will evaluate efforts to strengthen the institutional structure of the Organization of Turkic States, develop cooperation among member countries, and increase regional stability.
Emphasizing that various documents and decisions, primarily the Gabala Declaration, are planned to be adopted within the scope of the summit, Duran reported that President Erdoğan will also participate in the Council of Heads of State meeting to be held on the sidelines of the summit.
It was also conveyed that Erdoğan will hold a series of bilateral meetings with the heads of state and government attending the summit.
According to Duran's statement, this year's summit holds great importance in terms of the steps that leaders of the Turkic world will take regarding regional security, economic cooperation, and common development goals.
