Erdoğan warns of chaos and turmoil regarding March 31 elections

Erdoğan made statements at the Governors' Meeting Program. Here are the highlights from the remarks of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan:

-Governors are obligated to take ownership of and prioritize every issue in their city. Their doors, eyes, and discernment must be open at all times of the year. Our administrative traditions also show us the same truth.

-Even if there are some 'mankurts' (brainwashed individuals), the heart of our nation beats with excitement. We will follow this roadmap in every subject, from science to morality, from justice to effort. We have always acted with this understanding in our duties as Prime Minister and President.

-We have implemented our 2023 goals step by step and, despite all the attacks we have been subjected to, we have achieved a significant portion of our goals. We have left behind the first century of our Republic, and after the general elections, we have put forward a new vision. The Century of Turkey is the common dream and project of the state and the nation.

-The development and democracy breakthrough we have brought to our country is the foundation of the Century of Turkey. We see the Century of Turkey as the most valuable legacy we will leave to the generations after us. We will also conclude the year 2024 with an understanding that leaves pleasant echoes in the hearts of our people, which we will leave behind in the sky.

-We know what pains our country's first century went through. Although we have brought our country to the top league, we do not find the point we have reached sufficient. We are at such a critical threshold that with the steps we will take from now on, we will either be at the top of the global development league or we will face the risk of falling back again.

"STALE GAMES"

-Do not let the comfort of those who have never laid a brick upon a brick in their lives, and who have not signed any work, mislead you. Whenever Turkey reaches a critical threshold, traps and various games are immediately put forward. We also understand the February 28-style ambitions; these stale games cannot distance us from our Century of Turkey vision.

-We are, of course, aware of the difficulties. They use the fluctuations caused by global and regional crises as a tool to turn nations against each other. They are trying to stir up the country with false news. They aim to realize their dreams by clouding the minds and hearts of our young citizens. Turkey has never compromised; they have started to praise the most ambiguous form of fascism, disturbed by our democratic maturity.

-Turkey is not a country limited only to Turkey's borders. In a very wide geography, the hearts and faces of millions of people are turned towards us. For those who can speak the truth and acknowledge the reality, this meaningful picture means a very great responsibility.

-Turkey is preparing for a new election on March 31. Like every issue concerning the future of the country and the nation, I expect superior effort from you in this election as well. It is essential that the elections are held in a healthy manner.

As in every election period, there will be those on March 31 who want to hide the pain of the support they could not get from the nation by creating turmoil and chaos.

There will also be those who want to use the slightly more intense competition to stir up the country. I believe that we will conclude these elections as well with composure and in full democratic maturity.
