Erdoğan's chief advisor slams Hüseyin Çelik! 'Shamelessness and political immorality'

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's chief advisor Oktay Saral targeted Hüseyin Çelik, one of the founding figures of the AKP, in a post on the social media platform X. Saral strongly opposed the statements Çelik made following the legal action taken against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Saral criticized Çelik's claims that the operation was conducted because İmamoğlu is a presidential candidate, arguing that such expressions are disconnected from reality and represent an attempt to sow political discord. Saral stated, "For individuals who once served in the AK Party to take a stance against the government is political immorality and ingratitude."

"For some individuals who once served in the ranks of the AK Party and had the honor of carrying the trust placed in them by the nation to now come out and attempt to lecture the government is clear shamelessness and political immorality. One cannot speak of the sincerity or credibility of those who, as soon as they lose their seats, immediately switch to the opposing front. This attitude is, to put it mildly, ingratitude, and in essence, betrayal.

Hüseyin Çelik’s statement that 'an operation is being conducted because Ekrem İmamoğlu is a presidential candidate' is not only a narrative that has severed its ties with reality, but it is also an attempt to stir the pot of discord. The statements of these former figures, who have been defeated by their own ambitions and have lost their perspective, are a clear sabotage of the national will and the justice system.

These cases are based not on individuals, but on evidence, the law, and the public conscience. No one's name, past title, or former position is enough to place them above justice. We did not allow this in the past, and we will not allow it today.

No one should take offense: Positions are temporary. But the mark of betrayal against this nation is permanent. Those who try to threaten the government from behind the scenes and speak the language of the opposition have no standing with us, regardless of what they say or whom they represent."
