Erdoğan's response to Bahçeli: 'Bury the weapons and we will pave the way for everything'

Political parties' parliamentary group meetings are continuing as scheduled.

Following the IYI Party and Future-Saadet group meetings, President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements.

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

As you are closely following, our region is burning. In such a climate, we are facing a historic responsibility. We are struggling to march toward our goals. Everyone who feels they belong to this country, regardless of where they stand on the political spectrum, must provide support and avoid destructive opposition.

We are striving to serve our country with a politics that unites and embraces, rather than divides.

We are pleased with the ceasefire agreement that has been reached. At the same time, we are ready to provide all kinds of support for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Unfortunately, there is a parasitic opposition mentality in our country that blocks everything that is done. We have achieved everything we have done in the country despite them. We know that the time we spend on them is wasted.

The nonsense spewed by the former Chairman of the CHP in the lawsuit, like a truck with failed brakes, is the latest example of this. This person, who has lost every election he has faced and is not liked by his own party, is trying to gain leverage through us to hold another party congress. Moreover, he is doing this using material handed to him by FETÖ. We all know how this person ran to FETÖ members after July 15.

Kılıçdaroğlu still hasn't explained what he was doing at that hamburger shop in the US.

HE TOUCHED UPON THE DAYCARE DEBATES

The Ministry of National Education sent a letter. This reminder stems from a legal obligation. Just like the issue of student scholarships, the CHP is once again clinging to the politics of exploitation. They think they are challenging us. Ignorance is a tolerable deficiency on its own, but when ignorance and arrogance come together, it becomes unbearable. They don't even know the difference between a kindergarten and a daycare. They haven't read the letter from the Ministry. Let's say they read and understood it; this time, they cannot get rid of their habit of lying and slander. Turkey is a state of law and order. The rules are clear. There are standards. No one can say, "I don't care about the rules, I don't follow the laws." They are so cowardly and incompetent that they hide behind children and families for the sake of political opportunism.

THE ISSUE OF THE LIEUTENANTS

What is it, they are evaluating my handing out of diplomas to the top graduates. What I am supposed to do is hand out their diplomas. If they have any wrongdoing regarding indiscipline, that is a result brought before us by the disciplinary board. They took a headlong stance regarding the lieutenants without thinking about the consequences. Discipline is, of course, necessary everywhere, but it is of vital importance when it comes to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). Who knows what lieutenants who engage in indiscipline despite the clear instructions of their commanders might do tomorrow? What is the point of heroizing those who engage in indiscipline amidst the clatter of swords? We will not accept the erosion of our army, which is the apple of our nation's eye, nor its provocation for the sake of political ambitions. This army is not the army of a faction or a party, but the army of the nation. The TSK is a sacred institution.

YOU ACCOUNT FOR YOURSELVES FIRST

As our heroic army is cleansed of tutelage aspirations, it has begun to fulfill its duty of homeland defense much more successfully. Let no one be offended; we will not allow opportunists, who are not ashamed to walk side-by-side with the extensions of terrorist organizations, to cast a shadow over the successes of the TSK, with its land, sea, and air forces. You will swallow the insult "Mustafa Kemal's dogs" for 3-5 votes, you will not make a sound while being lectured time and again, you will not say a word about the declarations of support coming from Qandil and Pennsylvania during the election process, and then you will come before us today and talk about Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the love for the homeland, the nation, and the Mehmetçik. You go and face your own dark record first. Account for why you did not speak up against the insults.
