Erdoğan silent on minimum wage: Did not respond to question

The anxious wait for the minimum wage has come to an end. The new minimum wage, which workers were eagerly awaiting, has been set at 22,104 TL with a 30 percent raise. This rate of increase disappointed citizens. This hike has drawn reactions from many organizations, primarily the opposition and labor unions.

ERDOĞAN SAID WE DID NOT LET THEM BE CRUSHED

Speaking at the AKP group meeting, President Erdoğan closed the door on further raises by saying, "May it be auspicious for our nation" regarding the minimum wage. Erdoğan used the following expressions:

"This figure corresponds to a net increase of 30 percent compared to 2024. We have once again remained loyal to our promise not to let our workers be crushed by inflation. I wish the new minimum wage to be auspicious for employees and employers."

LEFT MINIMUM WAGE QUESTIONS UNANSWERED

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered questions from members of the press following the group meeting. Erdoğan left the question directed at him, "It was rumored that you would increase the minimum wage a bit more," unanswered.
