Following Özgür Özel's victory in the chairmanship election at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP, Eren Erdem, who resigned from his post as Deputy Chairman responsible for CHP Media, Planning and Social Media Policies, criticized Özgür Özel in a post on his X account.

Expressing his reaction to the fact that primary elections were not held, Erdem used the following expressions:

"My dear Chairman, at our 38th ordinary congress, you said 'We will hold a bylaws congress within 3 weeks and write the PRIMARY ELECTION into the bylaws.' Furthermore, you said, 'I give my word of honor.'

I am a party member! God forbid, I could have no intention of undermining you...

But you said, 'I have no news of it,' there is NO PRIMARY ELECTION, we will hold a preference poll.

God forbid! I will not stand up and make a speech about honor and dignity! But your failure to hold a bylaws congress worries the grassroots.

On the other hand; at the bylaws congress that you said you would hold by 'giving your word of honor,' we were going to largely overcome our structural problems and enter the election that way.

However, we were going to solve the problems and renew ourselves at the congress you proposed by saying 'word of honor at the congress.'

However, you U-turned instantly.

You said there is no congress.

So be it."
