Expected election statement arrives from AKP: 'Not an early election, but an advanced election...'

AKP Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş made important statements regarding early election claims. While stating that elections will be held on time, Elitaş used the expression, "It may not be an early election, but an advanced election."

Pointing out that elections should be planned by taking meteorological conditions into account, Elitaş said he believes it would be more appropriate to move the elections planned for 2028 to November 2027.

Elitaş argued that the decision to advance the elections could be taken in two ways, noting the following:

''The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) taking a decision to renew elections with 360 deputies, or the President requesting a new election before their term expires.''

Stating that scheduling the election date for October or November would be ideal in terms of conditions, Elitaş emphasized that this arrangement should not be considered an "early election."
